MEET THE FOUNDER & CEO
Monica R. Heflin, Founder/CEO/ President-Anointed Dance Academy LLC
Monica R. Heflin is one of three children born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Communication and a minor in Sports Management from Bowling Green State University. Monica has been blessed with their daughter, Marley. Monica accepted Christ at the age of 8 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where Samuel N. Winston Jr. is the Senior Pastor.
Monica began learning tap and ballet at age 4 from volunteer instructors at "Little Dudes of Dayton" nursery school. Later in elementary school, she excelled and enrolled in Modern dance at The Jeraldyn School of Dance, instructed by members of the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company. |
Monica has received several certificates in her role of dance and choreography, among them are choreographer for 2006 Debutante Ball and 2014 & 2015 Judge for the NAM (National American Miss Pageant). Along with many special honors and acknowledgements of merit. She continues to receive honors for her longevity and in her dance leadership abilities and powerful dance role as “Principal Dancer”.
In 2004, Monica found her true calling in Liturgical dance during a brief move to Cleveland, Ohio. There she joined Mt. Zion Fellowship where Pastor C. Ronald St. Clair Williams II, is the Senior Pastor. She became a member of the Mt. Zion Praise Dancers under the Direction of Mr. Terrence Green, director of Dance at the Cleveland School of the Arts. Mr. Greene has also trained with the likes of Dayton Contemporary Dance Company (DCDC) and he is a graduate of The Juilliard School in New York, N.Y.

In 2004, she joined the prestige liturgical dance company Anointed Dance Ministries. ADM is a Professional Liturgical Dance Company where she held the title of Principal Dancer. She also served as the choreographer and rehearsal coach. Monica has learned to praise, love, and trust, believe and honor God through dance on a professional level. Monica has served as the Director of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Dance Department; she called VISION for ten years.

Finally, as of 2015, she became the Founder/CEO/Executive Director and President of Anointed dance Academy where it is her privileged to serve by teaching young women the basic biblical fundamentals of Christian dance through the word of God. As Superintendent of ADA she will pass down the professionalism she carries and believes in. Monica says, “It is a privilege and an honor to dance before the Lord. There is absolutely no other freeing experience than to dance and give my all to Him. I am an ambassador for Christ through the ministry of dance. To God be the Glory!”
